Thanks to a rash of injuries, the Philadelphia Eagles Seem like the wrong NFL Choice for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

The Detroit Lions (1-0-1 SU, 1-1 ATS) are undefeated during the first two games of the season. That is pretty great, right? The Lions looked like a poor group coming into 2019, and as stated by the DVOA stats at Football Outsidersthey are what we believed they wereNo. 14 overall in efficiency. That is just four places behind the Philadelphia Eagles (1-1 SU, 0-2 ATS), mind you. And with most of the injuries Philadelphia have suffered, we’re going to put the Lions within our NFL picks for Sunday’s matchup (1:00 p.m. ET, FOX). Too bad they’re already down from +8 in the open to +6.5 at press time, however. Timing is all. If it had not been for all those harms, this could have been among the tightest lines around the Week 3 NFL chances board. Here’s what the projections have to state: FiveThirtyEight: Philadelphia –6 Jeff Sagarin: Detroit –0.28, 44.88 total Wait, what? The numbers at The USA Today of jeff Sagarin appear to be all over the map for this specific competition — his Rating’re being used by us here, but for the most part, his projections such as the Lions to acquire by a hair. That does talk to the problems Philadelphia has had on defense, issues we saw at last week’s 24-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons (+1 at home). Things will probably get worse. DT Timmy Jernigan struck his foot in Atlanta, one week later a Lisfranc injury was endured by DT Malik Jackson and was lost for the year. And the crime is in issue: whilst TE Dallas Goedert and WR Alshon Jeffery are iffy at best for Sunday with calf strains WR DeSean Jackson is out two weeks with a stomach strain.
