New York Giants veteran quarterback Eli Manning insists he is”not dying” over being lost for the upcoming NFL fixture with Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No bitterness was displayed by manning during his first public remarks after being demoted as starting quarterback of the New York Giants. The 38-year-old vowed to become a great team-mate and help first-round pick Daniel Jones, who is replacing him beginning with Sunday’s match in Tampa. Manning said:”I am not dying. The season is not over. There’s a whole lot to be confident about, a lot to be grateful for. So I just have to take my new job and also make the best of this .” Manning also pointed out that even the Giants (0-2) have played only two games this season and that anything could happen. “It is not over. The season is not over. We have a great deal of football. I’m only going to do my part, do my job and get Daniel prepared to play.” Manning admits he understood there was a chance and is aware that a team using the sixth overall pick on a quarterback anticipates that participant to become a starter at some stage. He explained:”I did not understand how what was going to shake out this past year. “You understand after you draft a young kid, yeah it is a chance they’ll play with him when things do not go well. We didn’t start fast and that is the situation we’re in now.” The Giants have played including 12 in the playoffs, he has begun 244 times. He was benched in favour of Geno Smith for one game in 2017 by former coach Ben McAdoo, stopping Manning’s streak of 210 successive regular-season starts. Manning has been the best overall selection in the 2004 NFL Draft and won 2 Super Bowls with the Giants. Manning was acquired by the Giants on draft day for Philip Rivers from the San Diego Chargers. He has completed 56 of 89 moves for 556 yardstwo touchdowns and two interceptions through two matches. Jones sparkled in pre-season, setting up a potential battle that was in-season . The product was 29-for-34 passing for 416 yards, with no interceptions over four pre-season games and 2 touchdowns. Manning joked when asked if he had some information for Jones:”Throw it into the guy wearing the identical jersey you’re. Simple.” Read more:
